The team traveled across to Brookmans Park On Thursday and displayed true grit and determination to retain their unbeaten record for the current season. Brookmans Park having hosted their club championship on the previous weekend, was in great nick contributing to so fine golf with 3 of the 5 matches going all the way to the 18th.

Will Baxter & Colin Greenhill continued their good form with a comfortable win in the first pairing out. Ronan O'Boyle & Ross Nash suffered only their 2nd defeat of the season in the 2nd match however by all accounts they frustrated their opponents sufficiently leading to one of their opponents snapping a club over his knee. Not sure if that was a consequence of poor golf or Ronan's 'talking, talking, talking' getting under his skin?
In the third match Tim Johnson & Stuart Packer left the home pairing wondering what had happened when they came back from 3-down in the match to finally take a 1 up win when Tim holed his bunker shot on the treacherous 18th green for a birdie and the win. Next up was the pairing of Andrew Cameron and Craig Bassingthwaighte who hung on for life in a match that ebbed & flowed from the 1st hole to eventually go 1 down on the 18th leaving the match result balanced on a knife edge.
It came down to the final match in which Andy Hardie and Martin Gay made a welcome return to the team. The quality of golf in the final match was clearly of a standard that would not be out of place in a scratch league, confirmed by a great up and down from Andy on the 18th green to secure a half in the match and overall result as well.

Next up is a home match against Mid-Herts on Thursday 28th June @ 1pm. Will be good to see some members up supporting the team and join us in the club house afterwards to watch the England v Belgium match in the world cup.
