A fairly quiet week on the domestic front, with just one Major competition to report on;
In the Ladies Summer Foursomes scoring was very tight at the top, Fiona Womack and Janet O'Brien won with 39 stableford points, they were just one point ahead of the pairings of Rowena Haslam & Ross Thurley and Barbara Page who played with Pat Keates. The one point margin of victory was very special given the nature of their finish, Fiona and Janet managed to score 5 points on the 18th, a net albatross here catapulted them through the field to take the trophy. This was in contrast to Barbara and Pat whose only non scoring hole was the last.

In the SOOM 37 points was the best score of the weekend, four players managed to match this haul; on Saturday Will Baxter, Mark Taffs, Anthony Oram and, on Sunday, when most players were nursing England victory hangovers, Matt Ainsworth. Well played guys.

In the Bishop's July Medal Peter Ancell won division 1 with a 70, Mike Walker and Tony Hughes were runners up on 71, in division 2 Eddy McAleney shot a superb 68 to finish two ahead of Roger Doughty, Dave Gladwin was third on 71.

We can celebrate another success away from home; Terry Croker and Ian Foster teed it up in a UK seniors tournament, the John Nettell Trophy played at Brockenhurst GC. Terry shot two 76's for a nett return of 138 and won the nett section by 2, Ian had 74 & 76 to finish avery creditable 5th in the scratch section. Well played guys.

So England are in the Semis, the in store Summer clothing and shoes discount has now reached 35%. It will go to 45% if we reach the final. Remember the sale ends if we are knocked out. Grab a bargain while we are still in and stocks last.

Have a great weekend, good luck if you are playing in the Gallimore Trophy on Saturday,
