Dear Members,

Happy New Year (we hope!)

Welcome to 2021 and to our new “Club Calling” communications format. The new Communications team, led by Director Lynne Harris, have developed this bulletin style communication with the hope & intention of replacing the present situation of more “random” e-mails with this new, regular publication going out weekly, on a Monday, with items of news from the club and the course plus advance notice of events to come and other interesting articles. We hope you find it to be informative and becomes your main point of reference for club communication. Your feedback is most welcome as it is an evolving development. (See link below).

Clearly, as 2020 showed, some things are in need of more immediate communication so, where necessary, they will come out under the “urgent” banner from the office or Simon. Simon’s newsletter will also continue giving information and offers from the Pro-Shop. We hope you like it and we welcome feedback from you, our members.

I will end this brief message with a huge thanks to our outgoing Chairman Mike Southgate. Mike has led the club through the highs of the historical land sale and the enormous difficulties created by the pandemic. So, on behalf of the club, a big thank you for all your hard work and dedication - but Mike - do not forget I still have your phone number!

2020 was a difficult year and the start of 2021 is unlikely to be any better. There is, however, hope on the horizon. One vaccine already being delivered and, as I write this, the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has just been approved so hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel. For now though please stay safe and follow the rules of the land that are in place.
